Have you wondered why shielded coax is distinguished from hookup wire? Did you know that you could use hookup wire to connect your VHF transmitter to its antenna, if and only if, it had a correct characteristic impedance? We cannot know the characteristic impedance of a length of hookup wire but WHY is it not known. Did you know that you could use twisted-pair wires to connect your transmitter to your antenna with interfacing you design from the Smith Charts? - Discussion TBD.
